Voter (Your) Privacy

Voter Privacy - Our commitment to you

We conduct ballots and elections for our clients. The CorpVote system and associated processes ensures that responses remain anonymous, even when participants are required to authenticate themselves with personal information.

The privacy of our respondents and clients is fundamental to the way CorpVote does business. If you participate in one of our ballots or elections, we make the following commitments to you:

  • All votes submitted through the 'Secret Ballot' process are guaranteed to be anonymous.
  • Any personal information that you decide to provide while participating in a ballot or election will only be used for the stated purpose - Generally this is authentication only.
  • If in any case that information provide is to be used for any other purpose other than what is stated CorpVote will seek your explicit approval.
  • While information is in our custody, we will protect your personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.
  • We will never pass on your e-mail address, or any other personal information that you decide to provide, to any other party ever.
  • We will continuously monitor our delivery of these commitments and swiftly respond to any breaches in this policy; and to any suggestions for improvement which our clients or respondents might make.
  • If you want to talk to us about any privacy matter, contact us at [email protected]

Your responses remain anonymous.

The CorpVote's Ballot Engine™ system and business processes ensure that your voting preference remains anonymous at all times.

Respondent anonymity is a non-negotiable condition when CorpVote agrees to conduct a Secret Ballot process for a client.

The only way that a response in any CorpVote ballot or election process can be identified as coming from you is if you identify it yourself.

Your voting connection is encrypted.

We use session encryption for all ballots and elections.

When your browser connects to our system and before you start responding to the ballot or election, the link between your browser and our system is secured using an encryption process known as Secure Socket Layer, or SSL.

CorpVote employs the highest standard of SSL implementation supported by Server Authentication Certificates that includes Extended Validation(EV). EV means that we have passed a rigorous identification process to ensure our right to use the domain name, that our business is a legal entity, and that the SSL Certificate requester is our employee and authorised to obtain the certificate. EV SSL not only authenticates our SSL connection but also verifies our organisation’s identity to ensure against phishing (false ballot websites). The most visible security indicator that EV SSL is in effect is the green address bar in high-security browsers, such as the one below using Internet Explorer 9.0

EVSSL Example

CorpVote uses Thawte EV SSL Certificates. Thawte is a leading global Certification Authority.
